Swift reunion with owner

It wasn’t long before the officers were able to trace the dog’s owner. The pup had managed to slip free from her partner during a morning walk and become lost in the unfamiliar area.

Thanks to the officers’ quick thinking and compassion, the dog was safely returned.

What the officers didn’t initially realise was that this wasn’t just any dog. He was a support animal for a woman with a disability. The bond between them was more than companionship; he plays a vital role in her daily life.

A touching letter

The grateful owner later wrote a letter of thanks to the Police Commander, which was published on the Polish government website. In it, she praised the officers’ empathy and professionalism. She said:

“They showed enormous empathy, seeing my distress… I’m pleased that we have such wonderful, empathetic police officers in Nowa Sól, who are helpful to people with disabilities.”

Not surprisingly, the story has gained attention online for highlighting both the officers’ compassion and the dog’s special role as a support companion.
