Lottie spent 4 months behind kennel bars, just waiting for a loving family to choose her.
Her moment finally came, and she joined a couple and a tabby cat named Motor.
A true love story
Nobody knew how the pair would get on - but it turns out any fears their owners had were completely unfounded.
Motor and Lottie get along wonderfully. So well in fact, that it almost seems as if they grew up together.
In a clip shared to Instagram on the 11th of April, Motor can be seen lying next to Lottie in the sunshine, just quietly enjoying time together. Motor is completely relaxed and gives Lottie's ears a few gentle licks. The dog rests her head against the cat- delighted to have her new best friend by her side.
Healing the past
Poor Lottie had a difficult past. She was 'used' all her life for breeding... before being abandoned in a field. As for Motor, he experienced the loss of Maisie, his best friend who passed away last year.
Grieving his companion, Lottie's arrival couldn't have come at a better time.
Viewers asked Motor and Lottie's human for advice on how to introduce a dog and cat to each other. The trick, it turns out, is to introduce them gently and with plenty of patience.
