Every surrender breaks rescuers' hearts a little more. This was the case for Maxxie, a lovely dog aged 3 or 4.
But a year ago, her fate changed completely.
A broken promise
Maxxie's owner was devastated when he arrived at the rescue centre. He explained to staff that his landlord had changed his mind about the dog. He no longer wanted to allow her in the property.
The landlord gave Maxxie's owner an ultimatum, saying he had to get rid of her. The dog's owner had no choice but to bring Maxxie to the rescue centre to find her a new family.
A brighter future ahead
To help the adorable dog find a new family and avoid a long stay at the rescue, volunteers shared her sad story on social media through a moving post.
And it worked brilliantly! Maxxie was lucky enough to be adopted by a loving family shortly afterwards, much to her owner's relief.
