The dog seemed to be looking for her owner, her eyes fixed on the road in front of the shelter.
The rescuers tried to approach her, but sadly, the dog was very wary and fearful.
Gaining her trust
They put out food and water to try and coax her over, but nothing worked. One of the rescuers sat down near her, but without knowing her name, she couldn't build a connection. Eventually, the rescuer noticed the dog go and fetch a black glove from a pile of leaves.
She held it gently in her mouth and seemed very attached to it. At one point, a noise from the road made her run over to see if her owner had returned, but sadly, it wasn't them. While she was gone, the rescue team examined the glove. It was well-made and looked very expensive.
Safe at last
When the dog saw the rescuers had the glove, she growled, wanting it back. They hesitated, but eventually placed the glove inside a humane trap, hoping to safely secure her. But the dog was very clever and refused to go inside...
Finally, a team member nicknamed *”The Dog Whisperer”* managed to win her trust! She is now safe at the shelter, with her glove by her side. The rescuers have named her Faithful, a tribute to her loyalty to her owner. We wish Faithful all the best for the future.
