Abandoned on the streets of California, a small stray dog sought refuge outside a bank.
She quickly gained the sympathy of employees, who decided to create a makeshift shelter.
An act of kindness
Clearly grateful for their kindness, the dog regularly used the pet carrier, hiding from the rain and making a nest in the soft blanket they left for her.
When she was still there 5 weeks later, they contacted rescue organisation Logan's Legacy 29, who agreed to take the little dog into their care.
Unexpected complications
Suzette Hall, who runs the rescue, arrived on site to capture the dog. But after months roaming free, she was understandably wary and nervous of new people.
It quickly became apparent that the actions of the employees had actually complicated the rescue mission, as the dog showed no interest in the food put out to encourage her into the trap cage.
Days went by, and Suzette grew increasingly concerned. Eventually, after many failed attempts and trouble with her car, she ask another rescue group to intervene.
They decided to set up a new trap cage over the weekend, when the dog wouldn't receive any food from the staff at the bank.
The stray had become cautious of the trap, but she was curious enough to approach and investigate.
After several weeks in the rain and cold, the little dog finally ventured inside the cage. Now she will be loved and cared for while the team works to find her find the perfect home.
