Ravi had only been with his family for a few months when they made a heartbreaking decision.
They contacted their local vet, explaining he needed to find a new home.
"Too affectionate"
Thankfully, The Little Guild animal rescue immediately agreed to take the 8-year-old cat on, offering him a safe place to stay until the right family came forward.
"Ravi was surrendered for being too affectionate" , they explained on TikTok. The clip shows Ravi cuddling up to shelter staff, desperate for any time he can get with people.
"He has such a sweet and silly personality", Jennifer Langendoerfer told The Dodo. "His favourite thing is to snuggle up in your lap and take a nap".
Outraged reactions
Cat lovers around the world were shocked when they heard why Ravi had been given up for re-homing, with over 38,000 commenting on the clip.
"An affectionate cat is a gift, not a problem", shared a viewer.
"Not liking an affectionate cat is insane", agreed another. "This is the dream cat".
"We've gotten over 100 applications for Ravi", Langendoerfer confirmed. "We have a small staff - but they are working through them to find the best fit for our sweet Ravi".
Hopefully this friendly feline will soon be snuggled up with his new humans, who will cherish his affectionate nature.
