When Joanna and her husband adopted a kitten, they looked forward to a purring companion, especially for their Goldendoodle Teddy. However, what the new cat owners ended up with completely turned their idea of a house cat on its head.
In just a few months, their little cat, Witcher, grew into something much bigger than anyone had expected.

Witcher moves in and takes charge
Joanna had always been fascinated by the elegant presence of black cats. When she saw the photo of a jet-black kitten with strikingly large ears, she was instantly smitten.
Together with her husband, she brought home the little one, who was then called Toast. The new cat parents' first act was to rename their furry friend Witcher, inspired by the video game hero Geralt of Rivia.
A fitting choice, because although the little one was tiny when he moved in, he showed his character straight away. Despite the size difference, he set clear boundaries with Teddy, making sure the dog knew exactly who was boss. Over time, this respect grew into genuine friendship, and the two developed a deep, brotherly bond. Perfect!
But soon Joanna noticed something odd: Witcher kept growing... and growing... and growing! First, his tail became as long as his enormous ears. Then his body began to stretch – and it seemed to stretch on forever.
"Friends came to visit and said: 'Blimey, he's really long!' Or: 'He's still so young?!'" Joanna recalled. Soon it became clear: Witcher was definitely no ordinary moggy, he was a proper panther.
Big cat with heart: Witcher's special nature
Despite his impressive stature, Witcher wasn't just beautiful to look at, he was also brave, loyal and very trusting. Whether with strangers, other animals or even long car journeys, Witcher stayed cool.
Joanna explained: "He loves to cuddle, purrs endlessly – and everything he does feels like a conscious decision to show us his affection."
With her TikTok videos, Joanna wanted not only to document Witcher's development, but also to break down prejudices. Black cats in particular often struggled to find homes, she knew.
"I hope more people will see how loyal, loving and special black cats can be. Witcher is living proof of that."
For Joanna and her husband, it's clear: they didn't just adopt a kitten – they found a true treasure who changed their lives forever. And millions of TikTok fans continue to follow the adventures of their majestic "house panther" with fascination.
