Last summer, Courtney opened her door and found a black and white cat on her doorstep.
He pushed straight past her and wandered inside as if he owned the place, using the litter tray before settling down for a nap on the sofa.

Choosing his home
Courtney and her partner felt certain the stray cat must have had a family looking for him.
They decided to let him stay in the garage while they tried to find his humans. “We went to check on him later … he was curled up in our cats' old bed,” Bailey said. “He'd made himself right at home,” she told The Dodo.
Love at first sight
With no family in sight, the couple decided to introduce the new arrival to their resident cats, Tater Swift, Saint Dikolas and Reece's Pieces.
They may be brothers, but Tater and Dikolas couldn't be more different. "Marshmallow cat" Tater loves nothing more than a snuggle, while Dikolas spends his days wreaking havoc around the house.
Unsure how a fourth cat would fit into the mix, Courtney apprehensively let them meet. Then she watched in awe as something beautiful happened.
“Tater Swift and this cat took one look at each other and fell in love,” Bailey explained. “He was immediately enamoured with Tater … following him everywhere.”
Pongo, as he was later named, was just the cat Tater needed in his life. And with no microchip and no family, Courtney decided the 5-month-old stray was there to stay.
These days the pair are inseparable. They spend their days wrapped in each other's arms, finding "new ways to hug."
