Local animal rescuer Yassine tirelessly helps strays in Morocco. So when he spotted a terrified kitten huddled under a car, he immediately went to investigate.
"If I hadn't taken that shortcut, probably I would've never found her", he told The Dodo.
An urgent rescue
Elsa, as she was later named, was starving and terrified. But the second Yassine took her to his car, everything changed.
"The moment she felt safe she started to act so playful", he explained.
The little kitten was treated for gastric problems at the vet, before she headed home for a shower. "She felt, OK, I'm feeling clean now - let's play!", said Yassine.
New beginnings
Since her rescue, Elsa has continued to blossom. She's put on weight and her confidence has grown.
She now has wonderfully bright eyes, a beautiful coat and Yassine has started searching for her forever home.
"What a lovely man. Bless him for rescuing and helping. She is beautiful", wrote a viewer.
