Laura and Carla were on their way to a family gathering when they noticed a small, fluffy head poking out of the grass.
They stopped their car, cautiously approaching to see if they could help.
Cruelly abandoned
It soon became apparent that the dog was patiently waiting for someone. But heartbreakingly, they would not be coming back.
The dog had been abandoned by the people who were supposed to love him most.
A very happy ending
The women calmly walked over to the dog, fully prepared for him to run away. But to their surprise, he followed them to their car and got inside.
They took him to a local vet, where it became apparent he didn't have a microchip and most likely wouldn't be claimed. So, they decided to bring him home to meet the family.
Once there, Murphy, as he was re-named, adapted perfectly to his new life.
He took to his four-legged siblings as if he had always known them. In no time at all, it was as if he had always been part of the family.
