When he first spotted the fluffy figure hiding at the side of the road, Triune slammed on his breaks and jumped out of his truck.
He expected the animal to escape, but much to his surprise, the opposite happened.
Calling out for help
It turned out he had stumbled across a tiny kitten, who loudly ran over to him calling out for help.
"I don't see any farms", explained the driver on TikTok.
With no mother cat or siblings in sight, it quickly became apparent that the kitten would not survive without his help.
"I'm gonna hold onto her for a little bit", he continued. "I drive this route, so maybe I'll ask somebody at the next farm".
Cali, as she was later named, seemed to understand she was finally in safe hands. She climbed onto her rescuer's shoulder, happy to have some much needed warmth and reassurance.
The perfect fit
Triune never did manage to find Cali's original family, but he had a suspicion she might fit in perfectly with his own.
Thankfully, the animal lover was right!
Cali quickly became a beloved member of the family. Now she spends her time enjoying snuggles with her humans and playtime with her canine brother Chester.
