Pit Bull Terrier Rascal waited patiently in kennels for two long years. Then, just when he thought he'd found a family, things took a turn nobody expected.

Rascal spent 24 months in Orange County Shelter.

Loving and affectionate, he desperately needed a family of his own. So when an adopter came forward, committed to taking him home after several meetings, the shelter staff were overjoyed.

A traumatic experience

Heartbreakingly, their happiness was short-lived.

Rascal's adopter felt she wasn't up to the task, returning him back to the kennel he hated.

His return was a shock for everyone, four-legged and two.

"He was confused on the first day and seemed to be waiting for someone to come and get him", explained the shelter in a video they shared to TikTok. Poor Rascal just couldn't work out why his adopter didn't want him.

Hope for the future

Staff decided to launch a new appeal for Rascal, in the hope of finding the right family.

"Rascal needs a home, preferably without other animals or just caged animals like reptiles or rabbits. He gets on well with men and women, but he certainly needs someone patient", they explained.

"I'm so sorry people keep letting you down", replied a viewer.

"Fingers crossed you find the home that you deserve 🙏", wrote another.
