The five-year-old Pugese, a mix of Pug and Chinese Crested, landed the role of "Dogpool" after gaining fame last year as the ugliest dog in a national competition.
Canine superstar
Starring alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the dog's newly found fame has stunned her owners.
Her owner, Holly Middleton from East Yorkshire, expressed disbelief at the turn of events. "I never imagined anything like this would happen," she said. She admitted that Peggy's success in the contest was beyond her expectations.
Despite her new celebrity status, Peggy remains unchanged at home, just "plain old Peg," according to Middleton. But while Peggy's training for the film has boosted her confidence, she has not shown any diva-like tendencies.
Taking it all in her stride
Middleton's family missed Peggy while she was filming, especially Holly's two sons. The secrecy around Peggy's filming location added to the family's anticipation.
Attending Peggy's New York premiere, where she was seen being held by A-list stars, was surreal for her family. But Peggy appeared completely at ease, enjoying the affection from Reynolds and Jackman.
Despite her Hollywood debut, Peggy remains a family pet who enjoys lounging at home.
