A woman taking a stroll through the forest was left seething with anger when she came across an all too familiar sight: a dog waste bag left on a tree stump.

The red bag discarded among the trees incensed the woman, especially as she'd already encountered several similar bags during her walk.

"Stupid or lazy"

The woman took to Facebook to express her frustration and question why someone would do that. While venting her frustration, she called those responsible "stupid or lazy."

Her post quickly sparked a fiery online debate. Some people sympathised with the woman's annoyance, while others suggested she should have just left the bags where she found them and not gotten so worked up over it.

But the woman may have a point. Plastic bags can cause harm to wildlife, especially if they find their way into waterways.

Accidentally forgotten?

During the debate, some dog owners shared their own habits for dealing with dog waste bags. One person admitted to accidentally forgetting the occasional dog poo bag. Meanwhile, another volunteered that they would often put the bag down on the ground and return for it later to avoid carrying it around with them.

With this in mind, it was suggested that the dog owner probably intends to reclaim the bag and dispose of it themselves on the way back. Hopefully, that's true.
