Passionate dog mum Tiffany Maki was left speechless, after making a shocking discovery during a walk with her beloved canine companions.
A heartbreaking discovery
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary as she arrived at the park, but when the time came to leave, everything had changed.
She spotted a tiny grey figure sitting all alone at the side of the path. Gradually getting closer, she noticed he was tied to a folded crate, leaving him completely trapped and unable to seek help.
The poor little pup was absolutely terrified, which lead to some dramatic reactions and a lot of barking.
But as a former dog rescuer, Tiffany could tell he was reacting out of fear, desperately trying to protect himself from danger.
New beginnings
As soon as he realised he was in safe hands, the miniature Schnauzer relaxed and began to trust Tiffany.
He had clearly been recently groomed, but with no form of identification, it was impossible to track down his original family.
He was renamed Explorer, and rescue group Schnauzer Rescue of Texas agreed to take him on. They will cover the medical care he needs, before helping him find a loving, forever family.
