Often the intelligence and intuition of animals can be surprising. Much like this hare, who showed remarkable bravery in the face of danger.
Often thought of as timid creatures, this clip shows quite the opposite is true, particularly when survival instincts are at play.
As fast as you can
As the clip begins, it shows a hare bolting away from the dog, who's running as fast as they can in a desperate attempt to catch up.
Tension builds quickly as you see the dog approach, barking frantically and gaining speed.

A cunning plan
Suddenly the hare stops still. Turning around, he starts running back towards the dog.
At first glance it looks like a mistake... The hare must be tired, and have given up completely.
But as the clip shows, it quickly becomes apparent that this isn't the case at all. The hare just has an unexpected plan, that will leave the dog wondering what went wrong!
The hare knows that the dog is using scent to track him down. By turning around, retracing his steps and waiting to the side of the path, he will buy himself some time to run in the other direction.
The dog, on the other hand, will follow the other path until the trail runs cold, totally oblivious to the little hare sitting patiently.
Cafe Nauka, who shared the video on Facebook, explained that this strategy is often used by hares to outsmart dogs during a hunt.
They may be able to run at speeds of up to 70km/h, but it's often their brains that save them in the face of predators.
