A tiny black puppy found abandoned in a hardware store car park has captured everyone’s hearts as he embarks on his journey to find a forever home.

Deanna Tsosie, an experienced dog rescuer, responded to a distress call from a concerned individual on the Navajo Reservation in the US.

Frightened and alone

Rushing to the scene, Deanna discovered the frightened pup, aged just four to five weeks old, huddled beneath a parked car in the car park of Ace Hardware.

Despite his initial reluctance, Deanna was eventually able to coax the little dog, later named Ace, from his hiding spot with words of comfort and reassurance.

Sadly, there was no sign of Ace’s mother or any of his littermates. It was as if he’d just been abandoned all on his own. Ace was without his mother or littermates and appeared to have just been abandoned.

Road to recovery

Deanna contacted AZ Hidden Jem Rescue (HJR) in Phoenix, Arizona, who promptly took Ace under their wing. When the vet examined him, it was discovered that Ace was battling mange, a treatable skin condition caused by mites.

Despite his health challenges, Ace’s resilient spirit shines through as he thrives in foster care. Surrounded by love and attention, Ace enjoys playtime with his foster siblings, including a litter of kittens.

Watch the moment Ace was rescued:

As he continues his recovery, it’s hoped that Ace won’t have long to wait before finding a forever family to give him the love and care he deserves.
