Laëtitia and Sylvain, who live in France, discovered a sick and weary dog hanging around their property in September 2023.
Emaciated and frightened
Initially, the couple struggled to be able to approach the canine, who they described as emaciated, skeletal, and intensely frightened. However, with incredible patience, the duo gradually earned the trust of the dog, affectionately named Forrest.
The breakthrough moment came on December 18 when the courageous pooch mustered the strength to drag himself to the couple’s house.
New start for Forrest
Concerned for Forrest’s fragile health, Laëtitia contacted a local animal welfare association for assistance, fearing he might not survive the night. The canine, bearing visible injuries from an accident or altercation with another animal, was promptly taken into care.
Against the odds, Forrest has shown remarkable resilience and is now on the path to recovery. Furthermore, the once-frightened dog found warmth, care, and a new family with Laëtitia and Sylvain just in time for Christmas.
