A woman in Germany stumbled upon a mysterious piece of stained paper in the forest that immediately raised alarm bells.

The paper resembled household baking paper and was stained with unexplained reddish blobs.

Suspicious discovery

On discovering the paper near the scenic Kriegsberghütte in Göllheim, Germany, Julia Rhode instinctively knew something was seriously wrong. Julia reported her find to the local police, suspecting it might be a sinister poison bait strategically placed to harm unsuspecting animals.

Concerned for the safety of pets in the area, she also took to Facebook to warn fellow residents about the potential danger lurking on the hiking trails. Tragically, comments on her post hinted at a sombre backstory. It appeared that the discovery was linked to a recent incident where a dog, presumably belonging to the person who made the Facebook post, fell victim to poison bait. Julia's proactive approach will hopefully spare other pet owners from experiencing similar anguish.

Take precautions

As the community rallied to support each other, some recommended that fellow pet owners take some precautionary measures, such as undergoing poison bait training with their animals or using poison bait muzzles during walks.

While it's unknown who is responsible for placing the poison in the woods, Julia's vigilance is a useful reminder to dog owners to take extra care when walking their beloved pets, especially when letting them off the lead.
