A heartbroken owner posted a special tribute to a very special dog after he passed away early this month. Moose really was one of a kind.

Jennifer Osborne, 26, shared the news on her Instagram account. She posted several touching pictures of her and Moose, an Australian Cattle Dog that she called 'the best friend anyone could ask for.'

Moose was sent to sleep for the last time after developing severe health issues. Jennifer was devastated.

Sleep well Moose

But she never left Moose's side. She cuddled Moose while he lay on the vet's table and told him how special he was. In his final moments, Moose knew that he was loved.

Moose was 10 years old. Moose's long and happy life is nothing short of a miracle.

Jennifer adopted Moose from a pet store back in 2016. He'd been born with a deformed skull and a huge overbite.

Jennifer took him in because she knew no one else would. As far as she was concerned, Moose deserved the same happiness as any other dog.

Vets found that Moose was missing part of his brain. They only gave him a few months to live and told Jennifer to consider putting Moose down.

He had a great life

But she refused. Moose was her dog, and she would do everything she could for him.

"I'm thankful I got him rather than someone who would have abandoned him or put him down," shared Jennifer. "He was amazing and a true blessing in my life. He was the happiest dog I've ever met, and I'm thankful he was my dog."

Jennifer spent £2000 per year on vet bills and medical treatment. That's so much more than the average cost of caring for a dog. But it meant Jennifer was able to give Moose the best life ever. And that's priceless.
