A Golden Retriever outsmarted his pig brother to make sure he got the tastiest treat - and it makes for an adorable video!

Golden Retrievers are the sweetest dogs in the world. They're probably the closest thing to perfect that there is.

They're so sweet and loving. They're also super loyal. Unless, of course, there's food at stake.

No friends when it comes to food

In this latest viral dog video, a Golden Retriever proved that when it comes to treat time, these dogs always put themselves first.

The short clip posted on TikTok starts with a Golden Retriever given the choice of picking a burnt waffle or a perfectly cooked waffle. At first, the dog picks up the waffle burnt to a crisp.

But he has no intention of eating it. Instead, he carries it across the room to where his pot-bellied pig brother is waiting. He gives the treat to the pig, pats him on the head, and then returns to scoff down the perfectly cooked waffle.

Thousands of dog lovers posted comments, and none of them was surprised by the Golden's sneaky tactics.

"Typical golden," posted one person. "These dogs will do anything for food."

"I couldn't believe he picked the burnt treat," posted another. "Then it all made sense. If there's food around, Goldens only ever look out for number one."

Always hungry

Golden Retrievers are extremely food motivated and greedy. These dogs will do anything for a treat, including guilt-tripping you with that sweet look.

But stay strong. It's super important never to overfeed dogs. Overfeeding can lead to obesity and all kinds of health issues, including diabetes and an increased risk of cancer.
