We've covered plenty of odd couples and unusual friendships. And here's another one. Now it's a cat and a horse acting like besties!

Anyone can be best friends with anyone else. And this cute cat video posted on Instagram proves it.

Shared by animal lover Erin Beach, it shows the moment when a giant horse expressed pure love for his tiny cat buddy. And it's as adorable as it sounds.

The odd couple

The short clip shows the grey cat sitting outside his horse buddy's stable. According to Erin, he's always hanging around the stable to keep his horse friend company. Plus, he's the resident mouse catcher. It's his job to keep rats and other pests away from the horses.

But he's off-duty in this video. He's chilling with his horse BFF, who decides to show his appreciation for the cat in the cutest way ever.

The horse leans his long neck over the stable door and starts nuzzling and stroking the cat with his mouth. He even manages to dish out a few ear scratches, which the cat clearly loves.

The loving moment has over 2 million likes on Instagram.

"This is beyond cute," wrote one viewer.

"OMG. They love each other," posted another. "You can just see it!"

Some people suggested clip isn't as cute as it looks.

"That's dangerous," warned one viewer. "Sometimes horses eat chickens or other small animals out of curiosity."

This was just love

That might be true. But, in this case, they're wrong.

Horses use nibbling to communicate their feelings with humans and other animals. It's a sign of trust, happiness, and affection. And anyone watching this can see that the horse has nothing but love for the cat.
