Life is hard as a shelter dog, especially if you're a tiny puppy like Brownie. That's why one rescue centre has launched a campaign to find this gentle pup the one thing he needs - a real home.

Brownie is, to put it simply, absolutely adorable. He's as cute as his name suggests and just as sweet on the inside too.

But this 8-month-old Poodle mix is having a really tough time adapting to life at the Coon Rapids Animal Humane Society in Colorado, USA. It's all a bit too much for Brownie, who spends most of the time huddled up in a corner.

Brownie needs a home

It's the only place where he feels completely safe. And it isn't helping his chance of finding some loving pooch parents. His shy and nervous nature prevents him from connecting with visitors—poor soul.

Staff can't bear to see Brownie struggle like this; he deserves so much more. So they've launched a 'Find Brownie A Home' campaign across social media. They want to show people that there's a friendly and loving dog hiding inside Brownie. All he needs is a little bit of patience from the right people.

The Coon Rapids shelter posted a video of Brownie via their TikTok channel. The short clip starts with Brownie huddled up in his corner. You can see that Brownie wants to love, but he's still too scared.

How to care for a shy and nervous dog

A staff member coaxes Brownie out of his corner with a few hotdogs. Brownie realises that he's safe and lets this friendly human pet him. The look on his face melts the heart.

Brownie will find a home

You can see that Brownie is still a little nervous. But, at the same time, he's enjoying the attention. Brownie is learning how good life can be when you're a dog that's loved.

We don't know if Brownie has found a home yet. But judging by the response to the video, plenty of people are willing to step up for Brownie.

"I want Brownie," posted several users.

"Send details," wrote another. "I'll fly up there today and give this guy a home!"

Brownie looks like he could be the brother of my dog Peanut. If Brownie can be sent to me in South Carolina, I would be honored and thrilled to give my Peanut the brother he always wanted.
