Apollo came into us as the other dogs in the home were making him stressed. Since being with us Apollo has found kennel life very stressful, he has gone off his food and cries when he is left. We believe he has separation anxiety, so he will need a very understanding home to help him over come this. Apollo needs someone in most of the time who will be able to work up to leaving him for no more than 2 hours a day. Apollo is a very affectionate dog and loves to stand on your lap for a fuss. He is loving his walks here at the centre and will happily sniff for hours. He is good with dogs out and about but will need to be the only pet in the home so he can learn to relax. He loved to play with tennis balls in his previous home but currently he is too sad to play here. Apollo is not your average sausage, he is a big boy for a dachshund possibly crossed with a Bassett. He has never lived with children so they may be overwhelming for him. He can not live with cats or small animals.
