We need to rehome our husky-type dog; he's two years old. We're having to move house and the new landlords won't allow a large dog. We're at a loss and don't know what to do.

Hi. Well, moving house is no excuse. A dog isn't a piece of furniture. Giving them away just because of the situation... what sort of excuse is that? It’s just an excuse because a dog is part of the family. It’s unthinkable to give away your two-year-old toddler just because they’re a handful 🤨

    Hi there,

I understand that this is a really difficult situation. A 2-year-old Husky is still young and very bonded to their family, so ideally you should try every possible solution before parting with him: speak to the landlord, offer an extra pet deposit, or see if a relative could look after him temporarily. If you really do have to rehome him, please avoid giving him to just anyone. Take the time to find a family who understands the needs of the breed. You can also contact specialist Nordic breed rescues or local animal shelters who will be able to help you find the right home. Feel free to mention which part of the country you are in, as this might help people point you towards the right organisations.

    Best wishes,

    Romane
