Hard pup life

As young pups, they were rescued by a well-meaning man who couldn't have them in his house, so he built them a shelter on the field. The man brought them food and tried his best to care for them. But the dogs had no access to medical care and were forced to live in a small shelter outside in all weathers.

But as the land around the field became more developed and houses were being built nearby, people started to complain about the dogs. It was not safe for the dogs to live there. Both pups also craved love and companionship, having only ever interacted with the man who brought them food.

Happy ending

Fortunately, when a local rescue organisation, Howl Of A Dog, heard about Inna and Zelda's plight, they were keen to help. As soon as Inna spotted the rescuers, it was as if she knew it was her chance to save her and her friend. She was very happy to be approached by the friendly strangers and even laid down on her side and raised her paw, asking for tummy rubs. In a clip shared online, it's easy to see how happy she was to have some human attention.

After many strokes and more tummy rubs, the two dogs were taken to the shelter. It didn't take long before a family fostered Zelda in Germany. However, Inna had to wait a little longer to find a loving home to give her all the tummy rubs she wanted. But finally, it happened. A family in the Netherlands heard about her story and couldn't wait to offer Inna a loving home.
