Several years ago, a man named Paul Skinner was riding his bike in Lincolnshire when he suddenly spotted something in the grass on the side of the road.
Help is on the way
As he got closer, he realised it was a black and white Cocker Spaniel. The dog was very calm and seemed almost sad. She was lying by a plastic bag. Inside the bag were four tiny puppies.
Skinner immediately called the closest animal rescue, Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary. Kennel Manager Nick Fern quickly arrived and realised the puppies were in terrible shape.
All the dogs were rescued, but unfortunately, only the mother survived. Despite staying close to her pups to protect them and keep them warm at all costs, they were just too weak…
A brighter future
The Cocker Spaniel mum, Carly, had a microchip that led back to her original breeder. Unfortunately, the owner who decided to cruelly dump her and her pups could not be found.
Carly stayed with her breeder, who decided to take care of her from then on. Now, she leads a much happier life, far from the cruelty of her past!
