A few months ago, a man was spotted throwing a black bag into a river.
A passer-by, intrigued by the movement of the bag, decided to go retrieve it and take a look inside.
Dog dumped inside river
To his horror, the passer-by discovered a little dog inside, shivering and scared. He immediately called a dog warden who later dropped the dog off at Dog’s Trust.
The shy pup was named Petal. She was immediately placed in a foster home, with Steven and Valerie Macdougall, who had lost their Cocker Spaniel Ollie just two days before hearing about Petal’s story. Though Petal didn’t trust humans right away, her foster family couldn’t help but fall in love with her as soon as came home with them.
A bright future for Petal
They officially adopted her, and didn’t wait long to adopt yet another pup (Penny), to keep Petal company.
Now Petal’s life is filled with love and fun. She’ll never have to revisit the horrors of being dumped again. Happy trails, Petal!
