A family in Denver, USA, dropped off an old armchair at a local thrift store, completely unaware of what would later unfold.
Cat found inside old recliner
As thrift store employees started to move the armchair, they realised that something was inside. And as they looked closer, they realised it was a cat!
Thinking it was just a stray, the employees contacted Denver Animal Protection, who promptly came to pick him up. At the shelter, the cat, named Montequlla, was scanned for a microchip, but unfortunately, his information hadn’t been updated.
Lucky reunion
Thankfully, the family quickly realised their beloved pet was gone and immediately called the thrift store to find out if they had seen him. The thrift store directed them to the shelter, and within mere hours, they were reunited with their beloved Montequlla again.
Such a happy ending – and a good reminder to check your furniture before you throw it out and to always keep microchip details up-to-date!
