Woman walking in neighbourhood after tornado suddenly stops and starts screaming

When natural disasters take place, people are often separated from members of their family. That’s what happened to many families in Kentucky.

A couple of weeks ago, dozens of tornadoes ripped through the state of Kentucky in the United States.

The tornadoes left devastation in their wake, with many homes being completely destroyed.

Searching for dog after tornado

But for one woman, this wasn’t the worst thing to have happened. When a tornado lifted her home, her dog had been lost in the chaos. For days, the woman had walked through her neighbourhood, trying to find her beloved Nola. But with no sign of her, she started to accept that her dog probably hadn’t made it.

As she wandered around her neighbourhood, she started talking to a Dutch journalist. All of a sudden, while filming, the journalist says: “There’s a dog over there.”

The sweetest reunion

The woman immediately looks in that direction to see if it could be her Nola, and instantly starts yelling:

“Nola! Nola! Come here, my baby! Come here! Oh my god! Oh my god, I love you so much!”

For that moment in time, it seemed like nothing in the world mattered – as long as Nova and her owner were together again.

We are so happy for this beautiful dog and her family – and we wish all the best to those affected by the tornadoes.
