A video was published on YouTube which shows a near-fatal accident avoided thanks to the quick-thinking actions of a loyal pup.
User @Drew posted the video to his YouTube channel titled "Deadly Brown Snake" and the clip has almost 4 million views. To begin with, the CCTV footage looks pretty uninteresting. A man sits on a veranda looking at his phone with his dog close by.
A silent danger
But then, unbeknownst to the man, a deadly snake slithers across the wooden slats towards him.
The loyal pup immediately springs into action, following the snake across the veranda and initially attempting to keep it away from his owner. The dog barks loudly when this doesn’t work to alert his owner to danger.
When the man spots the snake, he immediately backs away from it and picks up his pup to keep him safe, too.
A deadly intruder
The snake turned out to be a Pseudopod, a venomous snake only found in Australia and New Guinea. It is so venomous that even a bite inflicted by a baby snake can prove fatal.
The clip lasts mere seconds, but without the brave pup's actions, everything could have ended very differently.
We don’t deserve dogs!
