CCTV captures surreal moment

Security footage shows Gao Fenghua taking his Golden Retriever for a routine walk through the streets of Harbin, China. But what begins as a peaceful stroll quickly takes a very strange turn.

Out of nowhere, a cat plummets from above and lands directly on Fenghua’s head. The feline quickly springs to its feet and scampers off, but Fenghua isn’t so lucky.

The impact knocks him out cold, leaving him lying on the pavement. Meanwhile, his loyal Golden Retriever chases down the cat and corners it in a doorway. It seems the dog is determined to hold the furry culprit accountable.

At first glance, it looks like the pooch is playing the role of protective avenger. But just seconds later, it becomes obvious he simply wants to make a new friend, even if it’s with the creature that knocked out his owner. That’s Golden Retrievers for you: friendly to a fault.

An unsolved mystery

The cat, it turns out, belongs to a local resident named Mr Yu. However, exactly how the animal fell from the sky remains a mystery.

According to local media, Mr Yu and Mr Fenghua are currently working towards an agreement regarding compensation for the incident.

Thankfully, Fenghua has since returned home following a brief hospital stay, and doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
