It started as a familiar tale of senior pet loss and owner heartbreak, but then something completely unexpected happened to dog lover Lucy Ledgeway.

A beloved pup

Little Sunny was a much-loved Jack Russell Terrier. The 14-year-old pup had recently begun to experience health problems and sadly passed away from a seizure while en route to the vets.

He’d been a huge part of 19-year-old Lucy Ledgeway’s life for the past 15 years, so the loss was acute.

In a bid to ease her pain, Lucy's boyfriend drove her to a spot where she regularly walked Sunny. But, when Lucy looked up, she was amazed at what she saw.

A magical sight

There, in the sky, directly above her head, was a cloud formation that was identical to little Sunny.

The cloud really is quite uncanny, with the shape of Sunny’s face and fluffy ears, and darker clouds where her eyes and nose should be. You can see why Lucy was gobsmacked to see the sight.

Lucy explains: ‘After seeing Sunny in the sky, I felt a warmth. It was her way of telling us that she is OK.’

Of course, many will put this down to pure coincidenc,e but, as dog lovers, we can only imagine how magical and reassuring seeing this must have felt.
