If you think that your cat isn’t bothered when you leave the house, you couldn’t be more wrong as one owner discovered when she left her camera running.

Many cat owners don’t expect their pet to be fussed at being home alone. But Ida Myrin shared a video that may make you think twice about leaving your feline friend on their own.

Meet Isola

Ida is the proud owner of Isola, a three-year-old Ragdoll cat. When Ida went out one day, she left a camera rolling to see what goes on in her apartment when she’s not there.

When Ida returned 30 minutes later, she was keen to see what she’d caught on camera.

The video starts with Isola coming out of the kitchen holding a lead in his mouth, looking for his owner. When he realises she’s not there, he makes a sad meow sound. He drops the lead and goes around the flat to see if he can find Ida. But when he can’t, he picks up the lead and starts meowing loudly.

Sad surprise

As Ida watched the footage, she was surprised and saddened by Isola’s reaction. The little cat has always been attached to his owners, but because of lockdown, he’s become used to having people around all the time.

While Isola was fine after being home alone, Ida says watching the footage has made her feel like she never wants to leave her beloved cat alone again!
