The family followed the sounds to their steps. They then noticed a mother cat and two kittens nearby.
Trapped under the steps
Following this lead, they spotted a narrow crevice between the steps and the house, just wide enough for one or two kittens to fall through.
Another cry then echoed from inside the crack, and the family immediately called their local fire brigade for help.
When the firefighters arrived, they couldn't get the kittens out from the top. So, they quickly came up with an unusual strategy.
An ingenious rescue plan
They placed wooden blocks into the crevice.
This created enough space for the kittens to land on the other side of the staircase. This way, the firefighters were able to retrieve them by going underneath the steps!
After a long and painstaking mission, the little black kittens were finally freed.
The two tiny kittens were reunited with their mother and their other siblings. Everyone was absolutely delighted to see the whole little family safe and sound, and finally back together!
