Someone was already living there... and had already made themselves quite at home!
An unexpected visitor
In the Reddit post below, it turns out that the family's child had been asking for a cat. However, their parents had told them they needed to wait a while to recover financially after buying the house.
However, as the poster wrote: "The universe had other plans." In the middle of the night, an adorable grey and white cat started meowing at their front door. The new owner opened it, and the cat ran straight inside as if it already knew the place!
Making herself at home
The cat immediately jumped onto the worktop, the fridge, and the kitchen cupboards. It had no intention of leaving! The new owners set up a cat bed on top of the cupboards, waiting until it was used to the family and the new smells before coming down.
The next day, they posted on Facebook and asked the neighbours about the cat. They soon learned that the previous owner had put her out and abandoned her before moving. The cat is now named Angel, and the family has decided to keep her forever. A few months later, they welcomed two more cats into their home, and Angel couldn't be happier!
