When Claudia adopted Rango, a little ginger cat found at a rescue centre, she knew straight away he was meant for her. He settled into his new home very quickly, as if he'd always lived there, preferring to sleep in his humans' bed rather than in his brand-new baskets. Every evening, he demanded his cuddles before drifting off peacefully.
But over time, Rango revealed a curious and adventurous temperament. One day, he started scratching at the front door, eager to explore the outside world. Claudia, thinking he simply wanted to enjoy the warm air, let him out for a few minutes. What was meant to be a brief outing quickly became a daily habit.
A secret life
Rango now spent long hours outdoors, without his owner really knowing where he went. Until one day, she discovered a little note attached to his collar. The message asked whether he had a family, explaining that he "often hung around" at the writers' home. Claudia, amused and intrigued, realised her cat had found a second home.
She replied with a note of her own slipped onto his collar, explaining that the cat was called Rango and that he enjoyed his walks. A few days later, she received a message from her mysterious neighbours, who confirmed that the feline regularly popped round to see them for cuddles. Since then, the two households have been exchanging updates about his "schedule".
Despite his double life, Rango remains faithful to his habits: he comes home every evening for his dinner and cuddles, as if nothing were amiss. Claudia, feeling slightly betrayed but touched, admits she's happy to see her companion so content. After all, this little ginger cat has simply found two families to love him!
