There's every reason to be angry. At the beginning of November 2024, someone took advantage of a bank holiday to leave a box outside the SPA in Tarbes, located in the Hautes-Pyrénées region of France (65).
Inside this Playstation box, however, there was another type of valuable content, even if the person responsible for this act didn't seem to share that view.
A box full of kittens
When they opened the box, the shelter team came face to face with 6 kittens aged around 2 months. Whilst the SPA in Tarbes puts things into perspective by explaining that this is still better than dumping them in a wood, they nonetheless felt compelled to vent their frustration on their Facebook page.
"We'll never get on top of this, neutering is essential!"
Already overwhelmed by various veterinary bills, the SPA in Tarbes is already in debt to the tune of £15,000 and is appealing for help from its donors. This new intake worries the team, who are in an alarming financial situation.
In the comments beneath the photographs of this abandonment, one internet user highlighted the irony of the situation: "In a Playstation box that's worth 8 times the price of neutering..."
Here, it would seem that the lack of neutering isn't down to a lack of means, but rather a clear lack of responsibility. And it's always the animals who pay the heavy price.
