Whilst heading to the supermarket on 4th October, a lady had an unexpected encounter in the shop's car park.

The lady had quite a fright when choosing her shopping trolley.

A little intruder had made his home at the bottom of the trolleys.

Finding shelter

There was indeed a black and white cat lying at the bottom of a shopping trolley in front of the shop. The lady thought he was a lost cat, no doubt being searched for by his family. So she took a photo of the moggy to post online, hoping his owners would see it.

She also asked the shop employees if they knew the cat. Two employees told her the cat had been coming there for a week. They sometimes fed the cat to help him survive. The next day, the lady decided to go back and see if the cat was still in the trolley.

In need of help

When she returned the following day, the cat was near the shop entrance. So she decided to take him home for the night. Unfortunately, her own cats are quite feral and didn't accept the newcomer. So the lady decided to drop the cat off at a rescue.

However, guilt began to eat away at her. The lady spent the week thinking about the cat... The woman and her child went back to the rescue and decided to adopt the moggy, named Charlie Jasper Moonstone.

Reddit users immediately fell in love with the cat and expressed their gratitude towards the woman who gave him a chance: "He's so cute! I love his colouring. I'm glad the cat distribution system sent him to you." One person joked: "Blimey, you really can find everything at Target!" What a lovely encounter!
