In early 2025, Bianca and Logan, who live in Bali, Indonesia, were contacted by a local rescue to help a dog in distress.
As Newsweek reports, it was a severely traumatised puppy. The poor little thing had been abandoned "in a wild area with his brothers and sisters" and "didn't even have any fur left on his back".
A very special hiding place
It was a very delicate rescue, as several animal shelters in the region had been badly damaged following a flood.
The couple agreed to take him in without a moment's hesitation. Within the first few minutes, the puppy hid at the bottom of their garden. It was only after several hours, with the help of the family's first dog, Ekko, that the puppy decided to come out of his hiding place.
It took several weeks for Bianca and Logan to finally gain the trust of the dog they named Peanut.
Even today, Peanut still hides in the garden bushes. "It reminds him of when he was a puppy with his brothers and sisters," she said. "Although he was abandoned in that kind of wild environment, it's in that place that he seems to feel safest."
