This October, Americans are preparing to celebrate Halloween. Many of them wander through pumpkin patches to find the finest specimens.
In Nebraska, someone found a little dog trying to survive in a pumpkin patch. The dog appeared to be in a "poor state".
She's making progress step by step
Fortunately, this good Samaritan immediately took the animal to the vet to get her to safety.
The poor dog was so thin that she struggled to move about. Named Zephyr, the 9-month-old dog was later taken in by Capital Humane Society.
Within a few weeks, the dog got back on her feet and was able to start walking more easily.
Even today, the dog still needs care to make a full recovery. Before long, she'll be going to a foster home to help her progress even further.
