Here's a wonderful display of generosity shared by Newsweek. Zeke is a one-year-old German Shepherd cross who was hit by a car. The accident left him with lasting injuries as the animal lost one of his front legs.
Taylor, his owner, explained to the magazine that the leg was "*so fractured and lacerated*" that he had no choice but to amputate it.
Building a wheelchair
Following this accident, Zeke didn't lose his zest for life. However, to provide him with comfort, his human decided to build him a wheelchair.
He naturally headed to a DIY shop in San Diego (California, USA) to buy the necessary materials. He bought PVC pipes and wheels but the result didn't have the desired effect.
A few days later, the thirty-something returned to the DIY shop for advice.
A community effort
In the end, the staff helped Taylor reuse the materials he'd already bought and even gave him ideas to create a wheelchair suited to Zeke.
"*It became a team effort, which made this project really unique*," Taylor said.
