Dominique owned and managed the K9 Aquatic Centre in Washington, where dogs could swim and play in indoor pools to their heart's content.
Ziggy was Dominique's assistant and he loved his role!
Arriving at work
Each morning before heading to work, Ziggy started his day with breakfast and a walk. Then, he and Dominique made the car journey to the aquatic centre. As soon as they parked, Ziggy was eager to begin his day, ready to do what must have been the best job in the world for him.
Before the other canine clients arrived, Ziggy jumped into the pool and enjoyed having all the toys to himself. He then swam around the pool, and judging by the video below, he made the most of every moment!
Therapeutic swimming
The pools at the K9 Aquatic Centre weren't just for fun. They also changed the lives of dogs with therapeutic needs. Indeed, before coming to the pool, some elderly dogs had stopped going for walks altogether. Since then, they had rediscovered their love of exercise and swimming did them the world of good. Some dogs with pain felt relief after coming for a swim. Others rehabilitated after surgery thanks to swimming.
Whatever the reason for their visit, they all had fun! For Ziggy too, swimming had done him a world of good: it calmed him enormously. It was his haven of peace, as Dominique liked to say!
Always there to help
Ziggy truly had found his calling, and his enthusiasm brightened every day at the centre. We hope he continues to enjoy his wonderful work for years to come!
