She locked eyes with a skinny dog sitting in her garden, staring back at her with curiosity.

A lost dog?
She assumed he belonged to someone and would eventually head home, but the next morning, he was still there. Meagan noticed the dog was really very thin. She realised the dog was a stray and must have needed help.
Meagan asked her neighbours to investigate the dog's background. She checked that the pooch didn't belong to anyone. Once the family was certain he had no home, they named the dog Roman. All the family members gradually fell in love with him. He became a full member of the family, and it wasn't long before he decided to return the favour...
New adoption
Indeed, Roman decided to add a little someone to his new family, too. He brought home a kitten! Nobody knew where the pooch had found the kitten, but it was clear it needed help, just like Roman had.
At first, Meagan didn't think she could keep the kitten, but eventually, just like with Roman, they ended up welcoming it. The family decided to let their new kitten come and go as it pleased. Most of the time, the little cat simply wanted to spend time with Roman, her new best friend.
