A therapy dog named Olivia saved another dog's life, after she was brought in to donate blood for puppy Jaxon. Without her help, he wouldn't have survived.

Olivia is no ordinary dog. As a certified therapy dog at a veterinary hospital in Portland, USA, Olivia takes on an important mission every time she visits -  comforting both humans and animals throughout the day.

Recently, she went above and beyond by saving the life of a puppy called Jaxon.

The sixteenth donation

Jaxon was brought into the clinic with uncontrollable bleeding.

Vets diagnosed him with coagulopathy, a condition that prevents blood clotting. To save him, a blood transfusion was necessary. And that's when Olivia stepped in to save the day, donating blood to the puppy.

This wasn't the first time Olivia had offered her blood. It was the sixteenth time the dog had been called upon to help a fellow four-legged friend.

A true lifesaver

After the transfusion, Jaxon's vital signs normalised, his anaemia decreased and he regained the strength needed to complete his treatment.

Thanks to Olivia, Jaxon now has a chance at a long and happy future!
