When the volunteers first laid eyes on Kerby, he was in desperate need of help.
Tiny and terrified, they managed to coax him into their arms, before bringing him to the safety of Main Line Animal Rescue.
Clinging to the bars
Confined to a kennel in an overcrowded shelter, he just couldn't understand why he was all alone.
“He was still just a baby, completely vulnerable, and clearly desperate for love and comfort,” the team told The Dodo.
"He was sitting in his kennel, tiny paws pressed up against the door, just staring out with these big, pleading eyes, begging for someone to notice him. You could feel his longing, and it broke our hearts. It was as if he was silently asking for someone to love him.
Finding his person
Shelter staff caught Kerby's reaction on camera, later sharing the clip to Facebook.
Thankfully, their post caught the attention of just the right person - an adopter who felt it was love at first sight.
Now the sweet kitten has everything he could hope for, and he will never have to beg for attention again.
"He finally has the life he was begging for in that shelter kennel — a life full of love, safety and joy.” the team shared.
