Domestic Shorthair Tessa travelled from Romania to the UK, after being taken into rescue.
She had been saved from a hoarding situation, where she was sharing her space with numerous other cats.
The shocking discovery
The cats were malnourished and very nervous, having been neglected by their owners.
"Sickeningly, they were collected to be used as food for the person's dog," explained Safe Rescue.
Heartbreakingly, they still bear the signs of the cruelty they endured.
New beginnings
Now, thanks to the amazing work of the loving volunteers, Tessa is safe in her new foster home.
Despite all she's been through, she is still a friendly, loving girl. She loves the company of other cats, so she'd be happiest with a feline friend to snuggle up with.
She's currently in Norfolk, patiently waiting to find a family who will love her for the rest of her days.
