For months, a six-month-old Golden Retriever puppy has spent nights locked in a car by a residential building in Saint-Martin-du-Var, France.

The Golden Retriever puppy was reportedly tied up with a lead approximately thirty centimeters long from 7 pm to 10 am inside a parked car.

Police and the RSPCA were alerted by a resident of the housing complex where the car is located.

A distressing discovery

A resident of the building noticed the animal’s distress, noting that it had no water bowl and was kept in darkness for long hours.

Speaking to the newspaper, Gwenaëlle, the concerned resident, said she contacted the owner, who explained that due to alleged health reasons, she could not sleep with the dog.

Neighbours offered to walk the dog, but their offer was met with a "categorical refusal."

Taking action

Concerned for the puppy’s well-being, Gwenaëlle decided to alert the relevant authorities, including the police and RSPCA.

According to the latest reports, the car has since been relocated, although it is unclear whether the owner has taken further steps to address the situation.

Hopefully, the appropriate authorities are closely monitoring the dog's welfare.
