The day started out like any other for the Happy Cat Cafe in Michigan.
But when an employee heard the doorbell ring, they knew something wasn't right.
Mysterious sounds
With no customers in sight, they rushed to the entrance of the building, only to find a confused and disoriented cat trapped in the hallway.
They were able to encourage the cat safely into a carrier, before they went to check the CCTV footage.
The camera had caught the exact moment the poor cat had been abandoned, thrown into the hallway by her owner, who quickly walked away.
New beginnings
Dumpling, as she was named, was understandably very upset by her ordeal. But thankfully, she had ended up in the safest of hands.
The team contacted Fig and Friends Pet Rescue, who immediately agreed to take her in.
She has since found her happy ending, alongside another resident from Happy Cat Cafe.
Dumpling and her new friend Luna are now adored by their new family, who will love and protect them for the rest of their days.
