The little family had been cruelly dumped in a backpack style cat carrier, which left them struggling to breathe.
"It was quite an ordeal for them all," June Fraser told MyLondon. Mum was really panting for breath as it didn't have the right air holes. She would've suffocated if they hadn't been found."
The heartless act of cruelty
"If I could stand in front of the person responsible, I'd ask 'how would you like to be packed in to a suitcase?' It makes me so cross." June shared. Sadly, the rescue team believes the cats will be "traumatised" for quite some time.
New beginnings
Having been alerted to the British Transport Police's discovery, June and the rescue team immediately got to work, preparing a space where the cats could begin to recover from their ordeal.
The mother cat was dehydrated and distressed, while her two tiny kittens were riddled with fleas.
The Ginger Cat House rescue has seen six similar incidents this past month, with emails pouring in from families looking to re-home their pets.
"People are not neutering, and then their cat has kittens and they don't want them. If people neutered more, it would help us hugely." June explained.
The St Pancras cats have been affectionately nicknamed The Railway Family. The team is hopefuly they'll soon be ready to find their forever homes.
